What do you do on a rainy day?

As promised it is raining here this afternoon.  I'm OK with that.  It gives me time to play in my stamp room.  I have some new Stampin' Up sets that I haven't played with yet so I pulled them out and had some fun.  Here's one of the cards I made.

This card uses the By the Tide stamp set and two of the new In Colors- Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  I used the Freshly Made Sketch 99 for the layout.  Hope you like it.  I do!

Off to play some more,
Mary

Oops!

I fully intended on posting yesterday, but my day got in the way.  I had some housework to do and I wanted to go shopping.  I just recently lost 22 pounds (wohoo!).  We are leaving for the beach soon and I didn't have enough clothes that fit me to pack.  Too bad, right?  So, after I finished my housework I took off to shop.  I hit the clearance sales and came home with 4 shirts and 2 pair of shorts.  I also couldn't resist getting something for Sydney.  I can't wait to see her in her bikini on the beach.  She will truly be a beach babe!

Today I'm featuring journals.  Can you resist a pretty journal with a matching pen?  If you're like me, you can't.  Each journal is unique and sells for $6.00.  Here are close ups of each one.

Let me know if you are interested in buying one or two.

Until tomorrow (hopefully),
Mary

So Truly Thankful

I am so truly thankful to the lord above for the wonderful life I have.  I'm also thankful for completing this post.  I'm having issues with my computer.  It is running soooooooooooo slow!  I've done everything I know to fix the problem.  I think I will have to get my son-in-law over here to diagnose and fix it for me.  I do fine with computers as long as they cooperate, but I'm not very savvy when they don't.

The picture above shows some Thank You cards that I made. I used the Blooming with Kindness set and the Print Poetry designer paper from Stampin' Up.  I added a fancy border to each piece of designer paper and then the matted image.  This set includes 8 cards, two of each design and sells for $20.00.  Here are some close ups of the 4 designs.

Let me know if you're interested in buying this set. It would be perfect for just about any occasion in which you need to send a Thank You note.  The inside of each card is blank so you have plenty of room to write your own message.

I'll be back tomorrow (computer willing) with another project.  For now, I'm off to clean house and then spend time with my precious Sydney.

I'll leave you today with a special message for Robin.  We're praying for you and wish you a day with less pain.  Love you bunches!!!

Till tomorrow,
Mary

Happy Hump Day

Ah!!!  The weather is so refreshing this morning.  Sunny and warm, less humid with a nice breeze.  I'm looking forward to my morning walk, but first I have some cute bookmarks to show you.

Here are all four of them.  The first one is an ordinary bookmark, except it is way cuter than any you can buy elsewhere.  Here's a close up.

Isn't that pinwheel so cute?  The other owl bookmark is magnetic and slides over the top of the page.  The magnet keeps it from sliding out.  Here's the close ups.

I included a side view so you can see how it works.  The last two are corner bookmarks.  They slide over the corner of the page.  I love the punched and embossed edges on these.

I enjoy a good book and having a cute bookmark adds to the fun.  These sell for $2.00 each.  Let me know if you're interested.  They would make a nice little gift tucked inside a book.

I'm off now for my walk, then housework, and then my sweet Sydney is coming over.  Can't wait to spend time with her.

Till tomorrow,
Mary

A Change is Coming

Good Tuesday morning to you all.  Well, yesterday was sunny and humid, today is cloudy and wet. However, the forecast promises a change in the weather to cooler and drier conditions.  I'm looking forward to that.  I'll just have to stay in today and take care of some chores and stamp.  Not a bad thing at all.

Today I want to share with you a set of Thank You cards that I made.  Five of them use the new In Colors from Stampin' Up.  They are yummy!  To round out the set I used Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, and Pear Pizazz.  I also used the new Chalk Talk set with framelits and the In Color designer series paper.  The background piece of cardstock is embossed.   I love how this set turned out.  I'm selling the set of 8 cards with envelopes for $20.00.  That's $2.50 per card!  I don't think you can beat that price for a high quality card.  They would make a great thank you card for any occasion.  Let me know if you're interested in purchasing them.

I'm off to plan my day.  Hope you have a great one.

Till tomorrow,
Mary

Good sunny morning!  The sun is out full force here this morning.  I normally love to go for a morning walk, but it is so HUMID here that it is hard to breathe just standing still.  So, I opted not to walk this morning.  I'll try to get out this evening after the sun goes down.  Hopefully it will be cooler then and less humid.

Today I have another item that I made for the recent craft show that I participated in.  These are easel post-it note holders and they come with a cute mini gel pen.  The first 2 photos show them with the pen and notes tucked inside.  The last photo shows one with the pen and notes removed.  These sell for $4.00 each and would make a great little gift for a co-worker.  Message me if you're interested.

As I mentioned yesterday, my daughter Riley just had a precious baby girl.  Here's Sydney.

Isn't she the sweetest thing you've ever seen?  Well I think so, but I might be a bit biased.

That's all for today.  Hope you have a great day and will come back to visit me tomorrow.  I'll have another craft item to share.

Till then,
Mary

SURPRISE!!!! I'm back

Hello and surprise.  It has been a long time since our last post.   We have had so many life changing events in our lives since Nov. 2011.  Some of them good, some not so good.  I guess the biggest life changer for us all came when my sweet beautiful niece, Robin, was diagnosed with advanced Lyme Disease.  She had been ill for a long time but we didn't really know why she was having pain attacks.  Now we know and she has been on an intensive treatment regimen.  Due to her health, Robin has not been able to craft much lately.  And, due to the intensive treatment, my sister, Laura, has had to quit her part time job and devote all her time to taking care of Robin.  Needless to say, Laura has not had much time for MD Designs.

As for me, I held out hope that Robin's health would start to improve and we would once again be able to meet for our fun stamping weekends and participate in craft shows together.  Now as the craft show season nears for another year, it is clear that Laura and Robin will not be able to participate.  After much thought about this, I have decided to try to keep MD Designs going on my own.  My daughter, Riley, just had a precious baby girl (one other life changing event, but a good one) and I know she will be too busy to help out much.  But she may be able to help some, so I'm going to try it.  My wonderful husband, David, helped me out last Fall when Laura had to back out of our shows.  He also helped me out this past weekend at a show which, by the way, was a flop for me. It left me feeling very discouraged and I actually thought about just hanging it up.  But I so enjoy creating things with my stamps and paper.  I just can't let it go.  I know that even though the others can't help me out with creating and selling, they will support me emotionally and spiritually.  I'm going to try to not depend on David to help me so much with the shows, but he doesn't seem to mind.   David thinks we need to change our name from Mother/Daughter designs to Mary/David Designs.  Not going to happen.  Sorry, David.  I hope this will be a temporary situation and Laura, Robin, and Riley will be able to rejoin the team soon.  I really miss stamping and crafting with them.

My goal is to start blogging more often.  Maybe even daily.  I want to show you some things that I created for my last show (that didn't sell).  If you see something that you like and want to make a purchase, just message me and we'll figure out how to make that happen.

Let's start with these cuties.

I used the dress framelit from Stampin' Up to create these little hand sanitizer holders.  They were so fun to make and turned out so cute.  I'm selling these for $3.00 each.  Let me know if you're interested.

 Till tomorrow, or next time,
Mary

P.S.  Robin has been trying to blog about her experiences with Lyme and she has created an Etsy shop.  They are both called The Rounded Corner.  Check them out sometime.
